We Make Your Image

Not sure whether your school uniform requires loops or epaulettes?
Find out below
Loops and epaulettes are an ornamental shoulder piece that are generally displayed on the uniforms of the armed forces, but are also featured on a variety of school uniform shirts, blouses and shirtjacs.

-
An epaulette is characterized as a flap that is fastened via the shoulder seam of a garment. Epaulettes are then accompanied by “sliders” which are small circular strips of fabric that are slid onto the flap which, is then secured with a button on the crown of the shoulder.
-
A loop also attached to the shoulder, is represented as a small tab that is affixed from one end of the shoulder seam to the other. In this instance, the epaulette is slid through the loop and buttons on top of it.

LOOPS & EPAULETTES
The image to the left displays a shirt featuring a loop (to which you would thread the school epaulette through and button it down), whereas the image to the right displays a shirt featuring an epaulette (to which you would thread a small shoulder mark over the epaulette and button it down).
